Our new Legal Director

fsLAW welcomes our first and new Legal Director, Diana The – a well-established legal professional with more than two decades of experience in both legal and financial services.

She has worked in-house as Chief Counsel across Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa for 15 years, leading legal teams, developing and implementing legal and ethical standards as well as managing legal risks in large financial institutions, including an award-winning PE fund manager managing Asia-focused events-driven funds in the small and middle-market special opportunities, a global asset management firm in Asia which is part of a UK insurance conglomerate, a global financial services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions and a multi-country digital bank.  Diana is experienced in Funds, Financial Services, Family Offices and Fintechs (the 4Fs).  She has covered different asset classes including alternative investments (private equity, venture capital, hedge fund, real estate) and is also experienced in the field of insurance, investment consulting, financial advisory and wealth management.

Diana has been an Adjunct Lecturer, Business Mentor and Business Advisor to MBA students at Nanyang Business School. She is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion and was a frequent speaker at conferences in support of women on boards and in leadership positions. Diana is multilingual and is fluent in English, Mandarin and conversant in Bahasa Indonesia. Diana has been recognised amongst one of the most influential in-house lawyers in South-east Asia by Legal 500’s GC Powerlist Southeast Asia in 2017 and 2019.

Diana graduated from University of Bristol, United Kingdom with Bachelor of Laws (Honours). She was called to the Bar of England and Wales as Barrister – at – Law in Honorable Society of the Middle Temple, UK.  After gaining years of work experience, Diana went to Nanyang Business School, in conjunction with University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and The Wharton School in University of Pennsylvania (2013), where she obtained her Executive Master’s in Business Administration.
